I do love a good Cockatoo

This weeks posts are all about brooches apparently. You all know my collection of Erstwilder brooches is growing. My latest little friend to join the gang is Carnaboo the Cockatoo. Erstwilder never fails so amaze me. He is a such beautiful boy. He has a lovely little yellow feather mohawk which makes him look like a little badass. I can't even describe how pretty the material that he is made out of is. I couldn't get any close up photos of him that gave him any justice. You really have to see him in person to appreciate his beauty.
How good does my Pinup Couture Havana dress look turned into a skirt. It was inspired by fellow New Zealand Pinup the lovely Miss Victory Violet. Im going to have to try it will some more of my dresses. I thought this Havana matched really well with this brooch due to the hint of yellow in the skirt.
I thought about apologizing for some of the mess in my room but then I realized it doesn't really matter as this is how it is, and i'm sure most peoples bedrooms are not perfect everyday!
This photo set also made me realize i need to organize my scarf collection.

Cherry goodness with a hint of sparkle

Hi everyone, I hope you all are well. I apologize for the lack of post lately. I just have not had the energy. I couldn't shoot any outfits last weekend due to a terrible 3 day migraine. But i'm back with a very exciting post.
3 weeks ago I ordered my first ever Luxulite brooch. I finally decided that it was about time. I oohed and aahed over the Etsy site but decided I wanted to start my Luxulite collection off with one of their classic cherry style brooch. But she didn't have any listed that day, then i remembered the Australian site Coconette Oz had one on their site. It worked out good because the NZD is really bad at the moment so buying from the UK is very expensive. So I saved a bit of coin buying from an Australian site.
Boy was I impressed. It just so pretty. The silver sparkles with the red cherries works so well. Although the cherries remind me of red currents, as on this style the the cherries are not solid. It matches so great with all my red and green clothes. I can't wait for Christmas, as I will probably wear it everyday haha.
I now see why everyone is so obsessed with her pieces, they really are absolutely beautiful. I am beyond glad I finally own a Luxulite piece although I don't think my bank account will be so thrilled
What do you guys think of my new prescription cat eye glasses? Im thinking I may do a review of the glasses / the site I ordered them from.

Peachy Kisses - Pinup Girl Clothing Mary Blair Lips & Roses Jenny Skirt

I feel like every weekend is spent taking photos for the blog, I love doing it though. I have been so excited to shoot this outfit. I am in love with this skirt, I am so happy I got to own a piece from the Mary Blair collection. I do hope I can snap up a few more pieces before they are gone forever.
I have never owned anything like this before, but as soon as I saw it I knew that was the piece I must own. I did find the particular skirt to be quite long compared to other Jenny skirts i own. I ordered the skirt in a XL. According to the size chart I am a Large, but my Orange Border Print Jenny skirt in L is a bit too small so I sized up. When the skirt arrived it was far too big, but that wasn't a problem as I have an awesome local seamstress who made it fit perfectly. I always prefer a skirt to be too big than too small.

The print of this skirt is beyond amazing. It makes me so happy looking at all the cute little things on it. It has so many colours in the print which means it will match perfectly with so many colored tops, I choose to go with the obvious choice of a pink cardigan. I matched it with my cute little Erstwilder Flying Pig brooch. He's so beautiful (just like all her creations).

Wishlist Wednesday - Collectif Edition

It's Wishlist Wednesday time again.
I feel like these posts make me want to buy everything. This weeks edition is Collectif. I love Collectif clothing but due to the NZD being so bad lately it's so expensive to buy from England, but once it gets better I will defiantly be buying a few items off my wishlist.

Collectif has so many cute tops. I am loving their nautical collection. I mean how cute would that cardigan and the Sea Shell print skirt look together. I think I need the Freddie Knitted top in every colour.
One // Two // Three

I think the Mia Sea Shell skirt is a must have for summer, even though it's winter right now.... but it will be summer here in New Zealand in four months. I never wear shorts due to them just looking terrible on my chunky tights, but i can still admire them. I have been oohing and aahing over the Judith trousers ever since they came out.  I just wish i could try them on before i buy them, i just have a feeling that they would not suit me. But they are so pretty.
One // Two // Three // Four

Collectif has amazing wiggle dresses. I do not own any because I haven't reached a point where I am that comfortable with my body but when i get to that point I will defiantly be purchasing one. I am especially loving the Caterina dress, the colours are just so cute. But I can't forget the other two, they are definitely statement dresses.

Until next time.

Lady V London Penny Dress

I'm currently wishing it was summer. Im dreaming about cotton day dresses and orchids in my hair. But who needs summer to have those things. Even though it's pretty cold outside the sun was shining so I decided to pretend it was summer.
I recently purchased the Lady V London Penny dress, for almost half price, score. Although this dress is currently sold out, which sucks as i want it in more colours. So hopefully they bring it back.

The dress is made out a lovely light cotton material which is great for hot days. It comes with a matching sash which helps to clinch in your waist. I love that their products are made in London, so you know the quality will be great. You can tell a lot of attention has been taken in making this dress. I did order a size larger than normal (size 14) but i was glad i did as this is a dress that you don't want to be too tight.
The dress is so comfortable and easy to move around in. It makes me feel straight out of the 1940's. This outfit was all about pink flowers, including my earrings.

Lets just say as soon as Summer hits, this will be my go to dress.

Casual Outfit Inspiration - Dita Von Teese

I've been feeling really uninspired lately, just due to working. I have to wake up at 6am and I dont get home till 6pm. So it leaves not a lot of time for fancy outfit, so i usually just stick to a cardigan and circle skirt. So i decided to get some casual outfit inspiration from the one and only Dita Von Teese.
She just looks so amazing no matter what's she doing.

I mean look at those dresses. I would legit kill for her wardrobe, its so amazing. She is so elegant and put together. These four dresses really stood out to me, with the country border print dress to a floral border print skirt. She even looks amazing in a simple peach dress.

My favorite outfits are circle skirts and a plain top. Dita defiantly know how to pull it off. I need those vintage skirts in my life. Not to mention the second bag. I always think how amazing it would be to go vintage shopping with Dita. I bet she knows every good vintage store in LA.

I hope you all feel as inspired by her as I do, even though I am a little sad that I can't have her amazing wardrobe!

Friday Favorites # 3

I forget to do Friday Favorites every Friday, mostly because I am just so tired on a Friday night. I usually just come home from work and lounge out on the couch. But this Friday I decided I must do it. So here we go...

I couldn't not include some of the pieces from fellow bloggers Junebugs and Georgia Peaches Pinup Girl Clothing Collection. I am in love with the Dee Dee dress, look at those colors. I love the yellow one, who doesn't love a polka dot collar, belt and buttons? Not to mention the Blue Gingham and Peach Gingham. You'all know i am a BIG fan of Gingham.
I could have put the whole collection in my favorites. Its all just so damn cute.

One // Two // Three

Luxulite's new pieces are so amazing. From 'Gators to Lobster. If you love vintage inspired novelty brooches then Luxulite's the place for you. I mean how cute is the little glitter Gator. I am yet to own anything from them, but eventually i'll get around to it. You just can't resist the charm of her pieces.

One // Two // Three // Four

I have been seeing this bracelets/bangles all over Instagram lately. They are by the lovely brand Splendette. They have such pretty jewelry. I love the colours of these bracelets. The blue has to be my favorite though. Such a great way to jazz up a simple outfit.

One // Two // Three

I hope you all had a nice week, I am looking forward to getting some outfits photographed this weekend , as last weekend the weather was not photo worthy.
