Wishlist Wednesday - Vivien of Holloway Edition

Vivien of Holloway has such amazing clothing. I own two circle skirts from them which I wear so much and are so great. There are so many pieces from them that I am lusting over.

Let's start with their amazing swing trousers. I have never really been a pant person, but I think a pair of these would be perfect for winter. They can be dressed up or dressed down. They also come in a variety of colours.

Their accessory range is too die for. Who doesn't love repro brooches, bamboo bangles and wicker bags?

As you all probably know I am a big fan of skirt. But I rarely wear pencil skirts just due to not being too confident in wearing something so tight, but I do love looking at them. Vivien of Holloway have so many different pencil skirt patterns and colours. Also check out that peach rose print swing skirt.

How amazing are these blouses, so cute. Also their slash top are so cute.

I hope you are all enjoying your week.

Deer Arrow Tea Time brooch set review

Hey all,
I feel like I've barely been active on here lately. Due to my new job i'm so busy. But i'm trying to still keep posting. Anyway today I have a review of the cutest brooch ever (well the cutest two brooches).

Deer Arrow is a small business based in Brisbane, Australia. All their products are handmade. I have been lusting over their products for so long. So when they had a discount code a few weeks ago, I know it was the perfect opportunity to snap one up. I choose the Tea Time brooch set in Peach. Peach is my favorite colour  and I knew it would match perfectly with my Jenny skirts peach roses. Another reason I got the Tea Time brooch was because it matches my tattoo. It was really meant to be.

The brooch set came packaged so lovely. The brooches were both wrapped in bubble wrap, which kept them from safe in their journey from Australia to New Zealand. I love how much effort was put in for my order. I really enjoy purchasing from small businesses. You really feel like you are an important customer. It's very rare that a business will write a personal message to you.

The detail on these brooches is amazing. So much care was taken to handpaint these. The colour is really lovely. They are really great quality. I was really glad that the brooches had "C" clasp's which means they will not fall off during the day.

I feel like I need every colour of these brooch sets now. I've also been eyeing up the Chevy brooch, so darn cute. I really was so happy with this purchase and the brooch set is of amazing quality and finished to the highest standard. It's definitely a must own if you love brooches.

Pinup Couture Cherry Border skirt on a cold June day

If you follow me on Instagram you would know I recently order a few items off Pinup Girl Clothing. I think my collection will defiantly be growing this year. The quality of the items are amazing. Jenny skirts are so pretty. They are such a full skirt and the colors are so vibrant. I already own the Jenny skirt in the Orange border print which i love but it is a size L which is just a little too tight so i sized up. The size XL fits much better, i can now sit down without getting terrible muffin top.
This skirt goes perfectly with so many different colored tops. I decided to pair it with the obvious choice RED. Who doesn't love a good old green, black and green combination. I'm usually not a fan of the typical cherry print but this print is so different. It is more like a painting. So beautiful.

The skirt is great for twirling around, although i did get a little dizzy.

Lets just say this skirt will get a whole lot of wear. It's literally the best skirt I own.

Autumn Leaves and Yellow Roses

Autumn is such a pretty time of year, even though I do believe it is now winter. Anyway I just love all the amazing autumn colours. I thought the Pinup Couture Evelyn dress in Yellow and Black floral print looked so pretty with all the autumn colours.
The dress has the most amazing fit. I ordered it in a size L, which fits great. Its not too tight in the waist which i find my other Pinup Couture dresses are. I do find that Pinup Couture dresses do run very big in the bust and as i was not very blessed in chest department, they tend to be quite bagging in the chest. It does fit better in the chest than my Havana dress though.

It is a gorgeous, thick fabric that has a little bit of stretch to it. Now lets talk about that print. I had never really paid much attention to this dress, until i saw someone wearing it on Instagram. I instantly searched "Evelyn Dress" on Instagram and saw this dress looking stunning on all these lovely ladies. I had always loved the style of this dress but none of the prints really caught my eye. Seeing the dress on a bunch of different ladies made me realize it is such a beautiful print.
I managed to snag it when Pinup Girl Clothing had a 20% off sale. When it arrived, the print was even better in person. The yellow is so vibrant and pretty.
I was worried that the arms would be tight as i saw a few reviews said it was quite tight on their arms. I was very presently surprised that they were not tight at all.

One thing that really drew me to the Evelyn dress was the gathered bust. It really is such a lovely detail. The little black velvet bow is also a lovely touch, that really finishes the dress off.

I also through in some snaps of the lovely location I was shooting in. Christchurch really does have  lovely Botanic Gardens. I did get a few strange looks from people walking, but when you dress like me you get used to people staring.

My ever growing brooch collection

Ever since I started dressing vintage/pinup I have always loved to accessorize with brooches. So I now how a small collection of them. I was lucky enough to inherit a few brooches from my Grandmother after she passed away. I have only recently started buying repro brooches. As you can see my Erstwilder collection is growing with my little pig being the latest. I also just purchased a Tea Set from Deer Arrow which will match my tattoo perfectly. I buy most of my vintage brooches from markets and op shops, the best thing is they are usually $5-$20. I few of them my Mum has brought for me from jewelry shops, but they are difficult to find as brooches aren't very popular these days.
I love how they can turn a pretty simple outfit into a really amazing outfit.

I made this brooch board about 4 months ago, it's a great way too display all your pretty brooches. Most of the time i'm too lazy to put them back on the board. I keep my Erstwilder brooches in the boxes they come in. They are so handy.

The brooch boards are so easy to make. All you need is a frame, material and a thick lining type material. (I forget what it was called) I made this from a tutorial i found online. It cost me less than $15. I think because this one is full means i need more brooches to fill another board.
Thats logical thinking right?

I hope you all enjoyed a peak into my brooch collection.

Daisy print and sun hats

I feel as though the sun hat was totally unnecessary due to the fact that there really was not much sun today, but what can I say I love this hat. The weather has been so terrible lately. But today was actually sunny and some what warm. But it's supposed to be cold and raining for the rest of the week so back to cardigans and skirts for me.

I have had this Voodoo Vixen dress for so long now but it's just a dress i always forget i own. It has such a amazing collar not to mention the cute daisy print. It's such a great thick fabric which suits Autumn/Winter perfectly. It does annoy me that i can't wear a cardigan over it due to the rolled up sleeves, which is probably a reason why it don't wear it much. But that's just me. It's fine to wear on a sunny day or inside. I love dresses that have a belt which really clinches in the waist.

Modcloth Monday #2

I seem to always forget to do "Modcloth Monday". I think it's because the weekend messes with my mind. But no excuses this week as i have today off work due to a public holiday. I originally thought I would have a theme but that didn't happen. There was just too much great stuff that is totally different. Modcloth really does have so many amazing items.
